about

Upon hearing about the death of a friend and co-worker in July 2020, I picked up my acoustic guitar and started writing this song. It's about loss and the mysteries of crossing over. It is truly from the heart. And while it was inspired by my friend Stormy, I hope for it to have a universal appeal.

lyrics

"Into the Storm"

Every day someone’s light fades
Turned to memories, but none beyond today
It isn’t easy, not for anyone
To make some sense, out of someone being gone

All the standard lines ring true
A shooting star, this one collides with you
It’s not so simple, the layers run too deep
I’m thinkin… Am I so selfish, for wanting you here to keep?

Into the Storm
And to another plane
To the unknown
Can you tell me how it ends?
Can you tell me what it means?

Looking back and to the end
The days were good, where you always should have been
It brings a smile, but with it comes a tear knowing
Just how much, it meant for you to be there

Into the Storm
And to another plane
To the unknown
Can you tell me how it ends?
Can you tell me what it means?
